The Finance Minister Nirmala Sitaraman said that this scheme will include units in the field of Solar Photo Voltaic Cell, Lithium Storage Battery, Solar Electric Charging Infrastructure, Computer Server, Laptops etc. The
proposal was put forward by Finance Minister while presenting the Union Budget
2019-20.
Government will launch a scheme to invite global companies through transparent bidding to set up mega manufacturing plants in sunrise and advanced
technology sectors such as semiconductor manufacturing.

Voltaic Cells, Lithium Storage Batteries, Solar Electric Charging
Infrastructure, Computer Servers, Laptops etc.
Earlier,
the government had announced plans to set up a semiconductor plant in the
country. Proposals of Jaiprakash Associates Limited and HSMC Technologies
India-led consortium were selected for cumulative investment of more than Rs
63,000 crore.
Jaiprakash Associates withdrew their proposal, while in April
2018, the Ministry of Electronics and IT had canceled the letter of intent
issued to HSMC Technologies for setting up a semiconductor plant.
