The target of 175 gigawatt renewable power will achieve by 2022




New and Renewable Energy Minister RK Singh Said  on Thursday:- The government will not only achieve the goal of setting up 175 gigawatts of renewable energy by 2022, rather it will cross the milestone.

The government has set a target to set up renewable energy capacity of 175 GW grid from various renewable energy sources till 2022. It includes 100 gm of solar, 60 gigawatts from air, 10 gigawatts from bio power and 5 gigawatts from small hydro power.

 RK Singh Said :- By 2022, we will not only achieve the goal but also go beyond that. The installed capacity is 3.58 lakh MW.

A scheme for farmers will be started where they can install 2 MW solar panel for power generation, which will be purchased by the government.Through this farmers can earn up to Rs. One lakh per year. It will be very beneficial for the farmers.

The program is designed to develop efficient and employable workforce (Suryamatra) to perform various functions related to establishment,commissioning and operation and maintenance of solar PV system.

 Piramal Enterprises  also said on Tuesday that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Canada's largest public pension fund to sponsor the $ 600 million Infrastructure Trust focused on renewable energy.
